Day 1: Home to Qingdao

Zhanqiao Pier：Zhanqiao Pier lies on the South of Zhongshan Road jammed with visitors. The body of bridge stretches out from the coast to the depth of moon-like Qingdao Bay. Zhanqiao Pier is a scenic spot of Qingdao Seaside Scenic Area. It is also one of the national scenic areas first published by the State Council in 1982 and one of the 4A national tourist areas.
Xiaoyushan Hill Park：Xiaoyushan Hill Park is the famous scenic spot with the classical style in
Qingdao.The hill is not high and the height is only 61 meters. Nevertheless, it is the famous tourist spot along the seaside because it is the best place for tourists to see the whole view of the sea in Qingdao.
Xiaoqingdao Park: Xiaoqingdao Park is the landmark place in Qingdao,possessing 2.47 square kilometers. It is called Qingdao because there are evergreen trees and grasses on the island. The shape of the island is like a harp, water is like the string, and the sound of wind blowing over the waves is like the sound of performing the harp, so the island is called Harp Island. “Harp Island with Floating Lights”is one of the ten famous scenic spots in Qingdao.
German Governor’s Mansion: German Governor’s Mansion lies in the south of the Signal Hill. It is a German castle building with European royal style. The shape is elegant, decoration is luxurious, outline is exquisite and color is magnificent. Up to now, it has still been one of the excellent single villas in China. The style of this villa built in the early 20th century is rare in European mainland, even in Germany.

As one of the Four Great Ancient Pavilions in China, it is an ancient architectural complex reflecting Chinese ancient working people’s wisdom and art. The main building was constructed in the sixth year of Jiayou in Song Dynasty(1061 AD). It is famous for “Fairyland on Earth”.The legend of “Eight Immortals crossing the sea”and the wonder of mirage are well-known both at home and abroad.
Water City: Water city lies to the east of Danya Mountain in the northwestern part of the city. It dates back to Song Dynasty and the total area is 270 thousand square meters.The southern part is wide and the northern part is narrow, showing irregular rectangle. With the back against the mountain and the face against the sea, water city is located precipitously.The buildings of harbor and defence, such as water gate, dike,dam, wharf, lighthouse, city wall, enemy station, battery, moat and so on, are well-preserved. It is the most complete ancient navy base in China.

Sacrificed Horse Vault of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty: This spot is a graveyard of the king and great noblemen of Qi Kingdom in the Spring and Autumn period. More than 20 tombs of large or middle sizes has been discovered. Around the No.5 tomb, massive sacrificed horse vault was found,which shows the mightiness of Qi Kingdom at the head of the five overlords in the Spring and Autumn Period.

Confucius Temple：Confucius Temple is also called Zhisheng Temple.In China,it is now the earliest and largest Temple where people offer sacrifices to Confucius.The Temple,the Forbidden City in Beijing and Mountain Resort in Chengde are Three Major Chinese Ancient Architectural Complexes.The scale of the temple is second only to that of the Forbidden City. It is the best example of large Chinese ancient temple architecture.
Confucius Family Mansion：Confucius Family Mansion is the place where Confucius direct descendants entitled “Yanshenggong”live. The scale is second only to that of Ming and Qing imperial palaces. It is the classical architecture combining government, temple and residence.
Cemetery of Confucius family: It is also called “Zhishenglin”, special cemetery for Confucius and his family. The cemetery is the largest, the oldest and the best-preserved clan graveyard complex and artificial garden. Confucius died in April,the sixteenth year of Luaigong(479 BC) and was buried in Sishang, to the north of Lu City.His descendants were also buried here, so Cemetery of Confucius Family is formed.
Dai Temple：This temple is commonly known as the Eastern Temple of Mountain Tai, which is the biggest and the most integrated ancient architectural groups. It is a Taoist temple where generations of ancient emperors held grand ceremonies of heaven worship and sacrificed to Mountain Tai God.It employs the architectural style of imperial palaces, the perimeter is more than 1500 meters,and there are over 150 ancient buildings of many kinds.This temple,the Forbidden City in Beijing、Confucius Temple in Qufu and Mountain Resort in Chengde are called four great Chinese ancient architectural groups.

Day 6: Taian and Jinan (1.5 HR)
Mountain Tai：Mountain Tai was called Daishan, at the head of the Five Greatest Mountains. It was also called Daizong and the name was changed to Mountain Tai in the Spring and Autumn Period. There are majestic and striking natural views permeated with spiritual culture and human landscape of thousands of years.It is the epitome of Chinese nation’s spiritual culture.
South Heaven Gate: South Heaven Gate, like the open door, stands at the low part between Dragon Rock and Phoenix Ridge. When you look up from below, it resembles heaven palaces. It’s the gate of mountain top.
Heaven Street：Heaven Street lies on the top of Mountain Tai. It starts from South Heaven Gate in the west and ends at Azure Cloud Temple in the east.The archaic shops built on the rocks are in the glittering view. It is very delightful for you to shop and sightsee in the Heaven Street.
Yuhuang Peak：Yuhuang Peak,Mountain Tai’s highest peak, was named after Yuhuang Temple on the summit. It was called Pacific Peak in ancient times and also called Tianzhu Peak.In the evening, you can enjoy beautiful views surrounding Yuhuang Peak, and colorful clouds in the sky seem to have infinite changes. If the weather permits,it is lucky for you to see the well-known view“sea of clouds and jade plate”of Mountain Tai.
Da Ming Lake: The view of Daming Lake is quite beautiful. On the lake, birds are flying and fish are jumping, a lot of lotuses are filled with the pool, and pleasure boats are moving back and forth. On the shore, the shade of poplars and willows is heavy, flowers bloom like a piece of brocade and many visitors walk leisurely. There are many kinds of pavilions, platforms, buildings and attics visitors can come across.Mountain, lake and sky are integrated into one unity, like a vast colorful painting. The beautiful views on the lake vary from one season to another and the most pleasant season is autumn when the sky is wonderful and the weather is fine.
Baotu Spring: Baotu Spring is the symbol of Jinan, Spring City. Baotu Spring, Qianfo Mountain、and Daming lake are called Three Major Scenic Spots in Jinan. It is at the head of “72 Famous Springs”in Jinanand reputed as“The First Spring Around The World”.
Black Tiger Spring：Black Tiger Spring lies on the southern shore of the south moat near the Liberation Pavilion at Lixia District of Jinan. It is one of the three major spring groups in the 5A national tourist area“The First Spring Around The World”.Black Tiger Spring is one of “72 Famous Springs”in Jinan and at the head of “Black Tiger Spring Group”,recorded in “Famous Spring Stele”of Jin Dynasty, Yan Bi’s “72 Springs Poems”of Ming Dynasty and Hao Zhihong’s “72 Springs Records”of Qing Dynasty.
Qushuiting Street: Well-known both at home and abroad, Qushuiting Street is an old street with historical and cultural features in Jinan, Spring City. It connects Daming Lake, Hundreds of Flowers Land,Wangfu Pond, Furong Street,permeated with strong cultural atmosphere. Qushuiting Street is to the south of Daming Lake,the scenic area“The First Spring Around The World”, to the north of Xigengdao, to the west of the north gate of Dewang Mansion,and to the east of Jinan Confucian Temple. In the Qushuiting Street,there is still the wholly-preserved scene of Spring City, “springs and weeping willows in every family”recorded in“The Travels of Lao Can”.

Olympic Sailing Center：Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center is located by Fushan Bay, which is the new eastern district of Qingdao.It hosted the Olympic Sailing competitions of the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 .The Olympic venue, designed according to three core concepts,“Technology, Green and Humanity”, has already become a new tourist attraction in Qingdao.
